Wow Sheila...you beat me! I had my first grandchild on my 40th birthday! You already have one!

I am in Missouri also..pretty nice weather today..but I hear it is going to change..

I also just watched Nemo..it was really cute. I always get to see the end if I watch it "without" the grandkids!..

My first Grandaughter hardly ever laughed..she was so serious all the time..now she is a giggly teenager..

I still want to hold her on my lap and cuddle her..but she is too big..so we just hug..

Happy New Year and OUCH

happy new year to you all !!

sitting here right now after having root canal surgery this afternoon.

i don't freeze well so the endodontist had to administer 9 shots of the freezing "stuff" in there and it's now starting to wear off.

Glad the first part is over....when I had mine..the dentist found other things to do for an hour after he numbed me!..The shots were wearing off and he couldn't give me another..said it wouldn't numb me. So he had to shoot the stuff right into the tooth nerve..sounds awful but it really wasn't painful..

They just took a while because one of my nerves were Kinked

Does that mean I'm kinky????

Had several done. Didn't really need any pain pills..tylenol helped a lot. Pain pills made me sick!

It's snowing in Seattle

it snowed last night, just a few inches, but it sure is pretty.

i just looked out the window and it is snowing again.

i love it when it is snowing and i can stay inside.

Wow!..Well it's almost 65 degrees here..very sunny and warm..(St Louis, Mo.)

My daughter and her family went to times square yesterday..they should be ther sometime today.Haven't heard what their weather is like yet.

I get to babysit their animals...

So I will be spending my New Years with them!...

I love snow too. Now that I am retired..I don't have to worry about traveling in it. So I can just enjoy it..

Illnesses, thanx and apologies

i see that priscilla has posted a thread about my wifes situation , sigh, you cant tell anybody anything without it getting around and becoming public knowledge.

im not one to wear my heart on my sleeve or seek public sympathy for my problems, and i planned on saying nothing.

im viewed as a hard man and must preserve my reputation.

I only had my Hubby for 5 short months after his diagnosis before he was gone. Most of that time was spent in chemo..and then he would be sleeping. Or I would be trying to find things to cook that would taste good to him.

I really lost him when they gave us the diagnosis!.And no matter how many questions I asked..I felt totally helpless ..The JW's dictated his health care...

All he could do was think about "The new system"..and tell me if I came back I would see him!..

So I did a LOT of crying..because I couldn't believe the way he did and I don't think I will ever see him again...

Cherish each and every moment with your loved ones..for you never know. My Hubby was the picture of health..never any serious problems. Then whammy! The sky fell in.

It is very hard..I so appreciated the support I received from so many here. I can never express how much you all helped ME!

I always thought I would be the first to go.

I hope all goes well with your wife and you now!..Pacemakers are a wonderful invention..It can really extend a person's life.

It also keeps women from getting pregnant!..What an excellent form of birth control!

I bet someone started that to keep aids and STD's down!..

Of course that might explain why it attacks "older men". (Use it or lose it!)

But what about the young men that get testicle cancer?...Why doesn't it help them? That is a much more aggresive cancer than Prostate cancer!

I also heard the the men quit making little sperms when they are full!..And once they release..they make new ones!..

Oh Well!..Glad I'm not a man!..Decisions Decisions!..

I can just see them sitting there going..should I or shouldn't I?

i would really like to fall in love with someone.

i've been close a few times but, something in me always shuts down before i make that leap.

I have had what you are talking about!...I really miss it. Someone to be there for you ..to hold you..talk to about your feelings...be one together..I really miss hubby but I have some wonderful memories...

I have 2 daughters..one was married at 18..she is working on her 3rd hubby!

The other married when she was 33...she was more mature and knew what she wanted. She was ready to settle down..but she played hot and heavy before that. She didn't even date until she was 18...(We were still jw's...) after we left the religion she became a Flight Attendant..so she partied a lot!..Now she is a wonderful wife and Mother.

The younger one..she will never settle down...

She has a 4 year old son from her 2nd marriage and when she finds someone they have to love her and her son!...

She didn't marry the second time until she was in her 30's. Well..she is in her 40's now..and guys still fall all over her!...She has 2 boyfriends..one keeps hanging around...So I guess he really cares. But he also has a 4 year old son..and sometimes they cause big problems between them. He really loves his son and she really loves her son..and he really loves his dog and she ...tolerates his dog! (He is a huge boxer that likes to knock her son down) .. So they have problems to work out before any commitments.

I told her to wait until they are grown..and then have a steady relationship!..

You are a very beautiful and warm and caring person!...Mr right WILL come along when you least expect it!..Cupid does exist!..

When A Friend Lies....

i have a question for you - what do you do when you catch a "friend" in a lie.

i have a friend who i haven't known for a long time....and so far i have "caught" this person in 2 lies (no one on this board, or any board for that matter).

lies that weren't necessary.

Rhonda..when someone lies about ME..It really hurts..but if they are lying to make themselves "Look Better"..I figure it is a self esteem problem of theirs...I have a daughter that does this..I just live with it. (She is in her 40's..no changing her!)

If someone makes plans with you and cancels with some bogus excuse because something better comes up ..that would hurt too. (If you find out!) I would think twice about seeing them again.

I guess if it was a habitual thing..like someone we both know..then I would just roll my eyes and say.."Here we go again!:..

I used to be so naive when I left the JW's that I believed everything people told me...age has proven me wrong. It was a rude awakening!

I also think if the lies hurt someone..that would be more serious!...

I had a girlfriend that ran around on her husband..all the time!.( A JW..).She started using me for a coverup. I finally wised up and told her to stop saying she was with me because I wouldn't back her up!..Thank goodness her husband never checked with me.

We weren't friends too long after that. She got disfellowshipped after her hubby caught her and beat her up! (He was a JW too) Her motto was "Deny, Deny, Deny!..Never admit anything..she was an expert!

And I later disassociated myself..I was disgusted with the JW's. They just didn't make sense to me anymore...

i'm going to be offline for quite a while.

i'm moving this weekend and the computer i use belongs to my sister.

since i will no longer be living with her i won't have daily access to a computer.

I look at all the responses and I want to cry! This board is so nice compared to "Other" I go to.

I remember when my Hubby was diagnosed with cancer and all through his illness..they were there for me!

I went to a cancer support board for a while..but they couldn't do for me what the people here did. They restored my faith in humanity after it was crushed somewhere else!

And Carrie..if you don't get a phone right away..please send a postcard to someone here who's address you might have to let us know how you and your son are...

You will be missed. Maybe you can go to a library and use the computer like George does and check in once in a while?

The New Kids Book Release; Letter Ideas.

i think that it would be a good idea to give a copy of that picture of armageddon to any letters that you send to any politicians, legal court cases, whatever the case may be.. the picture is absolutley disgusting, and shows blatant mind control.

a copy of that in with a letter to any politician would wake them the hell up as to what kind of cult this is!

maybe a follow-up letter with the picture enclosed?
